China has just set its 2060 Carbon Neutrality Target. How China’s carbon neutrality goal is defined and achieved will impact global success in meeting the 1.5C warming target. It is our belief that the first chapter of our climate positive future is about educating the next-generation leaders in China through building a carbon-neutral campus in across all secondary schools in China.
The CCCC is achieving this goal through our 3-step strategy: 1) raise awareness, 2) conduct research, and 3) provide guidance to make sure all member schools will make impactful yet actionable plans to reduce carbon emission.
Protecting the environment is important, but where and how do we, as teenagers in secondary schools, contribute to it and why do our efforts matter. CCCC educates the next-gen leaders in China through a wide range of events and scholarships.
We believe that "if you can't measure it, you can't manage it" also applies in carbon emission control and have set the plan to measure the status and impacts of carbon footprints in major secondary schools.
Achieving a carbon-neutral campus is not an easy task - it involves different aspects and could be a decade-long task. We are providing the strategies and tools necessary to get started on this mission.
The Scholarship Committee is responsible for raising donations, selecting candidates for our annual scholarship, and issuing the award.
The Research Committee conducts carbon footprint research and publishes our Carbon Commitment White Paper.
The Operations Department manages day-to-day operations, including partnership, marketing, and collective member recruiting.
We have an annual award for the best student-led sustainability project, with a ¥10,000 CNY scholarship. Nomination opens in each July and candidates will be selected with partner organizations across China.
The Carbon Research Fellows project is a research-based program for students in secondary schools in China to analyze carbon impacts at their school. We have professors from top universities as academic advisors.
We are issuing an annual white paper to analyze the current state of carbon footprints on campus in China and give out the most up-to-date toolbox and strategies to help our member schools achieve carbon neutrality.
This list includes schools with official partnership or student body involvement.
You can become a member (and make your school a participating school) either by helping us to connect with the Principal's Office at your school or setting up a local chapter as a student club directly. Below is how we will help you to achieve a carbon neutral campus!
If you or your business are interested in supporting our mission, you can become a sponsor for our project to fund our scholarship, or get involved as an advisor for our research and white paper projects.
